1 Spiritual ministry in the Church
(just pastors or preachers?- special clothing and treatment?) 1. Who has spiritual gifts? 2. Who benefits from the exercise of spiritual gifts in the church?

2 Hebrews 10:24 and 25 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

3 We will look at four texts to answer these two questions having to do with spiritual gifts: Rom. 12, 1 Cor.12, Eph. 4, 1 Peter 4

4 1. Who has spiritual gifts?

5 Romans 12:4-13 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

6 1Corinthians 12:1,4,5,6,7 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

7 Ephesians 4:7,8,11,12,,13,,14,15 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men." 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ- 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

8 1Peter 4:10 and 11 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

9 1. Who has spiritual gifts?
Every Christian- every person who has trusted in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior! You- Your Spiritual Gift The Church

10 2. Who benefits from the exercise of spiritual gifts in the church?

11 Romans 12:4-13 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 15 2. Who benefits from the exercise of spiritual gifts in the church?
Every Christian- every person who has trusted in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior!

16 Last week Paul preached on two main points:
Do your work. Make your work personal. Use your spiritual gift. Personally minister to others.

17 Two weeks ago Sean Williams ended his message with two important questions about disciples (followers of Christ): Who is discipling you? Who are you discipling? accept the ministry of others generally and personally (be discipled). minister to others generally and personally (disciple).
