2 main categories on report card: Reading and Language Arts Reading: Comprehension and Vocabulary Language Arts: Phonics, Grammar, and Spelling Study Guides for tests – As needed or requested Blue Folders: Spelling and Vocab lists; Reading/L.A. homework; Spelling Journal; Other relevant classwork Reader’s Notebook packets due on day of test (Pages that need to be completed will be circled) Websites: Think Central; Teacher Website (“Kahoot Ghost Mode”, “Reading and Language Arts”, “Spelling and Vocab Words”, “Websites”) Leisure Reading Folder (calendar and reading log) Blue folder

Homework Homework Folder (maroon) and Blue Folder
Weekly Newsletter given on first day of every week (Also posted on teacher website under “Homework”) Should not exceed 30 minutes per night. Contact me if homework is too time-consuming. Nearly every night except Fridays (Time given in class); Neat and on time Homework is for practice, not for struggling; circle frustrating items to indicate Assignments may vary from student to student

Please initial or sign daily Notes on behavior Go home every night Must have in school every day (Filling them in is part of morning routine)

Please sign and return all graded assignments. Will be returned at the end of each quarter.

Goal Setting/Self-Monitoring 1 Foul Out – Discuss during recess and make a plan 2 Foul Outs – Discuss, make a plan, call home 3 Foul Outs – Meet with principal

Reading Log – Once filled, students can select a prize Xtra Math – When students complete a section, they receive lunch in the classroom with a friend Ball Net – Whole class reward Japanese name tags

Snacks/Drinks/Sweatshirts/Birthdays
**Absolutely no nuts (especially peanuts) or coconuts Snack break every day Nutritious, quick, easy, not messy Students may not share due to food allergies and medical issues Water bottles encouraged; water only please; bring home every day Keep extra sweater or sweatshirt in backpack Students may bring in a birthday treat. No need to notify me. Just send in with student or drop off in office.

Absences/Appointments/Transportation Changes
If possible, call office by 9:00 am for absences For early pick up, send in a note or Mrs. Levengood and me to ensure proper notification In the case of a sudden transportation change in the middle of the day, please call the main office directly to ensure that the information is relayed in a timely manner.
