Other terms of the Treaty
Germany had to accept full responsibility for the war – War guilt clause Germany’s army reduced to 100,000 men Germany was not allowed any air force German navy was restricted to 6 battleships, 15,000 sailors and no submarines The Rhineland was to have no German troops in it and be occupied by the allies for 15 years German colonies were taken away and redistributed by the League of Nations – 13% of her land and involving 6 million people Germany had to pay £6,600 million to cover damages for the war A league of nations should be set up, but Germany was initially banned from joining Note the other demands too. Check these against Walsh, pages 8-9
