Monday, 12/12 Unit: Exam Review
Write the equation you would use if you were going to calculate the coefficient of kinetic friction. If an object is moving at a constant velocity, what does that tell you about the forces acting on the object? What device is the diagram below? In a lab setting what would you use the device to measure? Upcoming dates Note: every day you will have either a HWK check or HWK quiz. Tuesday, 12/13 – last day to re-test to a 70 on momentum Wednesday, 12/14 – 5th period exam (8:40 to 10:15), review due Thursday, 12/15 – 7th period exam (10:00 to 11:20), review due Friday, 12/16 – 8th period exam (11:25 to 12:45), review due

Lab – Kinetic Friction Review
Essential Question: How can a design a lab to measure the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the table? Directions Predict what will happen to the coefficient of kinetic friction as you add more mass to your block. Design a lab to measure the coefficient of kinetic friction between a block and a lab table. Collect at least ten different data points. Display your data in table and graph form. Write a claim about your findings (such as; as the mass of block increased, coefficient of friction ________) and support your claim with appropriate reasoning. Self assess your lab write up with the rubric. Show me your work (do not turn it into the tray.
