Local Public Health System Assessment:
Formal survey instrument (CDC)
Questions based on 10 essential services answered based on consensus of MAPP coalition members
Goal is to “[i]dentify how organizations and institutions contribute to the delivery of public health services, to understand the existing infrastructure, and to identify potential gaps or challenges.”

Concerns: No collective workforce assessment by LPHS; lack of incentives given to staff to participate in education and training; promotion and development of leadership
Many questions in this section directed to health department; differences in opinion between health department participants resulted in low scores
