2 BID achievements * Marketing strategy for Newquay outdoor media campaigns, publications for Newquay and launch of Love Newquay digital platform. Creation and support of events for Newquay including The Night Surf, The Fish Festival, the Zombie Crawl, The Festive Festival and the Newquay Business Week. Awarded a ‘Rising Star’ award from DCLG. Promotion of events to residents of Cornwall and day visitors. Brand new wayfinding signage project for Newquay. Banners and hanging baskets throughout the highstreets. £45,000 for Newquay in addition to BID payments through grant applications. *see handout for a detailed breakdown of delivery

3 Newquay BID ballot (2016-2021) Ballot was held on 10th December 2016.
56% turnout (248/440 votes cast). 67% - YES votes. 78% - rateable value YES votes.

4 The Vision: “Continuing to grow Newquay as a leading visitor destination for tourism, business and living.”

5 Four Key Priorities Destination Newquay Creating a more vibrant town
Creating a more welcoming town centre Improving and supporting businesses

6 Destination Newquay 2016 Five year marketing strategy; high profile digital campaigns. Creation of blog content and social media content for members to engage with and share across their own digital platforms. Press trips aimed at the German and UK publications. 4 new short promotional films for Newquay for digital platforms including Instagram. A place to do business - Newquay Business Week -10th October 2016. Seven magazine with new Food & drink insert. Beacon technology – new project to link the physical and virtual high street for Newquay which will also replace the existing loyalty card scheme and act as a major B2B communications tool. The project will also connect the town centre and count physical footfall across a number of locations.

Newquay BID is supporting the following community events with funding or in kind support: Thundercats Racing- Fistral Beach The Night Surf-Fistral Beach Newquay Triple Crown Triathalon – The Killacourt Miracle Theatre – The Headland Newquay Carnvial – Town Centre Fish Festival – The Harbour Lowender Peran – Town Centre Music & Ale Festival – Town Centre St. Pirans Day – Town Centre BID Events: Zombie Crawl Festive Festival Newquay Business Week

9 Creating a more welcoming town centre 2016
40 hanging baskets throughout the town centre. 21 banners throughout East Street, Cliff Road and Manor Road. Newquay in Bloom seeding project. Decluttering project working with Cormac and Newquay in Bloom.

10 Improving and Supporting Businesses 2016
Applying for grants and match funding for Newquay. Lobbying Cornwall Council; working with community groups on issues such as street cleaning and bins. Town centre forum to encourage B2B promotions. Member benefits including press release writing services, business e-newsletter and high quality photographic images.
