The fruit of the Spirit!
3
Galatians 5:16... I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. It is demanded for every Christian to walk according to the Spirit. We are not supposed to walk different from what our nature is:
4
1.We are spiritual people.
Galatians 6:1…1Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2.We walk now in newness of life. Romans 6:4…4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 3.We Put on Christ. Galatians 3:27… 27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
5
From now on God is expecting many things
from us: Experience Growing Maturing Practice The fruits of the Spirit. Have you heard about them?
6
Walk in the Spirit, Galatians 5:22,23
This is the result of having the Spirit dwelling in us!! 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
7
LOVE. Is this TOO HARD TO PRACTICE?
8
What comes to your mind when
you hear this word? 1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us. How did He first love us?
9
Is this the Lord’s supper?
How can I show this fruit in my life? Love is not easy. Acts 2:42 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Is this the Lord’s supper?
10
We must be willing to apply the Bible in our lives.
John 13:34,35… “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 15:12, 17… “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. “These things I command you, that you love one another.
11
Romans 13:8-10 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. 1 Thessalonians 3:12… And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you,
12
1 Thessalonians 4:9… But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another; 1 Peter 1:22,23… Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
13
1 John 3:11… For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 1 John 3:23…. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 1 John 4:7,11,12…. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 7Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God… 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
14
Why do you think there is so much spoken
2 John 5… And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. Why do you think there is so much spoken in the Bible about love? hard
15
Can you imagine if Jesus would ever
think the same way? Matthew 5:45,46… “that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46“For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
16
Romans 5:8… But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 1 Peter 3:18…18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, Luke 23:34… Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
17
Love is a fruit of the Spirit.
2 Timothy 2:19… Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
18
What can love do for me? The Golden Rule
Matthew 7:12… “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. The Golden Rule
19
What Jesus is saying in Matthew 7:12 is:
1. Do you want people to love you? Love them! 2. Do you want people to treat you with respect? Treat them with respect! 3. Do you want to receive? Give away? 4. Do want to have love? Give love! 5. Do you want to have mercy? Use mercy! What can love for others do for you?
20
It can take you to heaven!
Luke 18:18-30… Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 19So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. 20“You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” 21And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” 22So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 23But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.24And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25“For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26And those who heard it said, “Who then can be saved?” 27But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” 28Then Peter said, “See, we have left all and followed You.” 29So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30“who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”
21
Do you have the Holy Spirit in you?
Do you have any fruit from Him in your life? Do you love others? May the Lord bless us all!
