3 The John 15:52:1-3 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 The Resurrection…of Us! – Eph. 2:1-3

5 The Resurrection…of Us! – Eph. 2:1-3
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

6 The Resurrection…of Us! – Eph. 2:4-7
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

7 The Resurrection…of Us! – Eph. 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

8 Joined to Christ – Eph.

9 Joined to Christ - Eph. 2:1-10
Because of our union with Christ, we share… His life His resurrection His seating in heaven (finished work!)

10 We are joined to Him! We are in Him and He is in us!
Joined to Christ Eph. 2:1-10 We are joined to Him! We are in Him and He is in us!

11 Joined to Christ – Rom. 6:1-2
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?  Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

12 “We can’t do something like that.”
Joined to Christ Rom. 6:1-2 The point is not, “We can’t do something like that.” The point is, “How can we do something like that?”

13 Joined to Christ – Rom. 6:1-2

14 Joined to Christ – Rom. 6:3-4
Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?  Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

15 The “baptism” here is the Baptism of the Spirit.
Joined to Christ Rom. 6:3-4 The “baptism” here is the Baptism of the Spirit. When we believe we are “placed into” the Body of Christ and so we are joined to Him.

16 Joined to Christ – 1 Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

17 Joined to Christ – Eph. 1:13-14
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

18 When we believed, we were joined with
Joined to Christ Rom. 6:3-4 When we believed, we were joined with His death, His burial, and His resurrection!

19 Joined to Christ – Rom. 6:3-4
Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?  Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

20 Joined to Christ Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

21 Four important realities:
Joined to Christ Gal. 2:20 Four important realities: We died with Christ The Risen Christ lives in us, therefore… We live by faith And, we live by faith in the One who loves us!

22 which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Joined to Christ – Col. 1:27 …the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

23 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:8-10
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

24 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:8-10
The risen Christ, who lives in us, is all we need!

25 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:11-12
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

26 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:11-12
When we were placed in Christ… The necessary power of the flesh was broken We died with Him We were buried with Him (finality) We were raised with Him

27 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:13-14
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

28 When we were placed in Christ…
Joined to Christ Col. 2:13-14 When we were placed in Christ… We were given life We were completely forgiven due to the finished work of Christ on the cross Our debt to God was forever ended

29 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:15  Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

30 Joined to Christ Col. 2:15 The sin Satan used to divide and enslave humanity from God has been dealt with by the very thing Satan sought; the death of Christ!

31 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:16-17
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

32 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:18-19
Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

33 Joined to Christ Col. 2:15 Relationship Rules

34 Joined to Christ Col. 2:15 By neglecting my relationship with Christ and focusing on the Law, we risk losing reward!

35 Joined to Christ – Col. 2:20-22
Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations— “Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,” which all concern things which perish with the using—according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

36 It all starts with my union with Christ!
Joined to Christ Col. 2:20-22 It all starts with my union with Christ!

37 but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Joined to Christ – Col. 2:23  These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

38 The Law makes sense! It just doesn’t work!
Joined to Christ Col. 2:20-22 The Law makes sense! It just doesn’t work!

39 Joined to Christ – Col. 3:1-2
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

40 Since we were raised with Christ, we are to pursue the “things above”.
Joined to Christ Col. 3:1-2 Since we were raised with Christ, we are to pursue the “things above”. That’s where our “focus”, or “mind set”, is to be.

41 We are to “set our affections” there. Home is where the heart is!
Joined to Christ Col. 3:1-2 We are to “set our affections” there. Home is where the heart is!

42 Joined to Christ – Col. 3:3-4
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

43 The essence of all we truly are is in Christ.
Joined to Christ Col. 3:3-4 The essence of all we truly are is in Christ.

44 Joined to Christ Col. 3:3-4 Our eternal future, all we will be forever, will be revealed when He comes. We are shaping that now!

45 Joined to Christ Col. 3:3-4 The degree to which we seek the things above, set our mind on those things, will determine our lives for eternity.

46 All who believe get into the Kingdom.
Joined to Christ Col. 3:3-4 All who believe get into the Kingdom. Not all believers have the same future.

47 Easter is about resurrection, but not simply the raising of Jesus..

48 We have died with Christ. We have been raised with Him.
We were buried with Him. We have been raised with Him. We are united with Him!

49 The risen Christ lives in every believer.
He seeks to live His life through us.

50 We must know what is true, then live by what is true, which is to live by faith, and set our minds on the things of Christ, He lives His life in us.

51 This is true individually and corporately!
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 1 Jn. 4:12

52 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. Jn. 15:4

53 Then, and only then, can the world see the risen Christ though us and say…

54 The Resurrection…of Us! – Eph. 2:1-3
