1 GOD REJECTS SAUL Memory verse: “ And Samuel said to Saul I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hast rejected thee form being king over Israel.” ( 1 Samuel 15:26) Bible reading: 1 Samuel 15: 1-35

2 Introduction Saul was a young man from the Tribe of Benjamin
Saul was obedient, handsome, humble and listens to advice Saul was chosen as king by God to lead Isreal because of his initial obedience, and humility. After Saul chose to obey and fear man rather than God, therefore he was rejected by God. Saul never repented and this brought his final rejection and separation from God.

3 The mission to Amalek. Bible reading: 1 Samuel 15:1-6
Amalekites were wicked people and did evil to the children of Israel (Gods chosen people), and they (the Amalekites) thought that God has forgotten their bad deeds. But the judgment of God came on them when they least expected it. This shows that Gods judgement will surely come on the sinners who did bad things and refuse to repent.

4 Amalekites bad deeds: God’s judgement
Attack the children of Israel when they were coming out of Egypt to the promised land. Joined hands with Eglon the king of Moab to attack Israel. They were wicked and dangerous. They sinned against Israel and God. God’s judgement God instructed Samuel to tell Saul to utterly destroy and wipe them off from the face of the earth. It was judgement time for the Amalekites

5 This is what will happen to sinners and nations that reject and forsake God
God gave divine assignment to Saul to go and destroy the Amalekites God has also given us a divine assignment to bring sinners to Him before it is too late. Warn sinners around you that the judgement of God is coming soon.

6 Saul’s partial obedience and rejection
Saul obeyed God partially, he went to the Amalek but did not complete the assignment. Saul thought he was wiser than God by saving the good things he found there and Agag the king of the Amalekites Saul became proud, greedy, and disrespect God and His word Children, incomplete or partial obedience is as dangerous as disobedience Samuel told Saul about his sin of disobedience but instead of repenting Saul was giving excuses

7 Saul blamed others for his disobedience and refused to repent
Some boys and girls are like this, instead of feeling sorry for their wrong deeds they are fond of giving excuses Some are also in the habit of total disobedience to their Godly parents and teachers Children God demands complete obedience from us Complete obedience brings full blessings while partial obedience brings punishment.

8 Punishment for disobedience
God does not easily reject sinners he gives them time to repent. Saul sinned against God earlier by offering sacrifice that he was not supposed to offer. He was rebuked by Samuel yet he sinned against God again by deliberately disobeying the word of God. Saul was disqualified and rejected from being king even though he was still sitting on the throne God’s presence departed from Saul and he became mad and eventually lost his life in battle with his son It is not how well we start as friends of Jesus that counts, but how well we finish it.

9 To finish well boys and girls must be careful not to be like Saul who keeps disobeying God.
We must totally surrender to God and obey his word at all times. God delights in total obedience to His words than religious activities. Your Christian life must be balanced showing 100% obedience to Gods word to enjoy His blessings all the days of your life. Sinners should repent now so that they will not be rejected at the end.

10 Questions Does God overlook the sins of those who refuse to repent?
What did the Amalekites do to the children of Israel? What was the assignment that god gave Saul to do? Was Saul’s obedience complete or partial? A) what should a Christian do to avoid the mistake of Saul? 5. B) what should a sinner do to avoid being rejected on the last day?

11 Lesson God demands total and not partial obedience to His word
Thoughts I must obey go totally in order not to be rejected like Saul.
