“Johnson says he’s embarking on a tour to meet with teachers, parents, students, and community leaders around the state to develop his “vision of action items.”

Finding the right outputs to contribute to classroom outcomes:
We, work with (whom)? Taking strategic action to improve (what)? So that (who)? Will better understand and be able to communicate to others about (what)? In order to build strength and success (where)?

Problem of Practice Problem: Typically, NCDPI Professional Development offerings to principals are designed to address state agency priorities and goals, with both variance and redundancy across divisions. Principals have traditionally had a limited voice in what types of PD are offered by the state education agency, resulting in haphazard alignment of state-wide PD offerings to field-based needs. Need: To develop strategies for identifying state-wide professional learning priorities that align with State Board of Education goals and also consider the unique needs of targeted educators.
