Ken Tucker, Chevy Cleaves First Light 03/15/17 By faith: we understand that God formed the universe from nothing Abel brought a better offering than Cain, and though dead still speaks Enoch did not experience death; God took him to heaven Noah built an ark when there was no such thing as a flood before Abraham left home, followed God, not knowing where he was going

3 What did Eve need from her husband but did not get?
Gen 3:9-12: 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” 11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” 12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” LETS APPLY THIS: What did Eve need from her husband but did not get?

4 What did Eve need from her husband but did not get?
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man….death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam…. (Rom 5:12, 14) For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1 Cor 15:22) By one man’s disobedience many (that is, all men) were made sinners sin came into the world through one man…. (Rom 5:19) What did Eve need from her husband but did not get?

5 CONSCIOUS, CONSPICUOUS IN GOD CONFIDENCE

6 What did Sarah need from her husband but did not get?
Gen 20:1-13; Gen 12:10-20  Now Abraham moved on from there into the region of the Negev and lived between Kadesh and Shur. For a while he stayed in Gerar, 2 and there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.” Then Abimelek king of Gerar sent for Sarah and took her. 3 But God came to Abimelek in a dream one night and said to him, “You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman.”  10 And Abimelek asked Abraham, “What was your reason for doing this?” 11 Abraham replied, “I said to myself, ‘There is surely no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’ 12 Besides, she really is my sister, the daughter of my father though not of my mother; and she became my wife. 13 And when God had me wander from my father’s household, I said to her, ‘This is how you can show your love to me: Everywhere we go, say of me, “He is my brother.”’” What did Sarah need from her husband but did not get?

7 What did Sapphira need from her man but did not get?
Acts 5:1-10; 5  Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened.  7 About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?” “Yes,” she said, “that is the price.” What did Sapphira need from her man but did not get?

8 What did Mary need from her man?
LETS APPLY THIS: Matt 1:19-24 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[a] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son.
