Choices 10th Graders can make for their 11th Grade year in Social Studies Click anywhere to continue

2 First off… the requirements:
You likely will have to take one of our World History or European History courses next year, because… CR requires three years of Social Studies. So, if you’ve had two years of American History, and that’s all, you’ll need to choose one of the following courses… Click anywhere 3 times

3 Which level should you choose?
Teachers will make recommendations for each student, based on what they have observed of work and work ethic, compared against the expectations of 11th grade courses. Click anywhere

4 Your options for next year:
Unless you’re so advanced for the class you’re in you’re bored, or… You’re working VERY hard and are not achieving the grade you want/need, then STAY IN THE LEVEL YOU’RE CORRENTLY IN! Click anywhere 8 times

5 Other options for next year:
If you’re getting an EASY “A” – talk to your teacher; who might recommend moving to a course level which is better suited for your skills in Social Studies. YOU MIGHT BE READY TO TAKE A COURSE DEMANDING MORE OF YOU! Consider APUS if you’re REALLY exceeding. BUT KNOW, THIS IS A COLLEGE COURSE Click anywhere 3 times

If you’re struggling just to pass, and you DONE with working so hard just to “get by,” talk to your teacher, who might recommend moving to a course level which is better suited for your skills in Social Studies. YOU MIGHT NEED TO MOVE TO A COURSE BETTER FOR YOUR SKILLS. Click anywhere 3 times

It’s a college course Taught with college texts With a college level syllabus With college level reading and writing. You’ll do lots of reading on your own… And lots of analyzing during class. But, you can earn college credit… And it might just be the difference that gets you into the college of your dreams! YOU NEED TO BE READY TO WORK HARD! If you’re in AP US, and doing just fine, take one of the AP World or Euro courses. If you’re in Honors, talk to your teacher to see if you’re ready for the jump INTO COLLEGE.
