Do you really need a dictionary?
When you come across a word you don’t know, don’t automatically look it up in a dictionary.

Before you look for a word in the dictionary, ask yourself these questions: 1. Does the word look or sound like an English word you know? 2. Can you figure out the meaning based on context clues? 3. Can you understand the main idea of the sentence without knowing what the word means?
