With your RIGHT elbow partner, discuss what answer surprised you the most with what you needed to STOP DOING IMMEDIATELY. With your LEFT elbow partner, discuss the most common thing that folks wanted you to START DOING IMMEDIATELY.

4 Chapter 8 Honing Good Habits Consider the following:
Aristole- “ We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” Consider the following: Do your teachers teach differently when you are in the room? Do you talk on the phone to a parent differently than you do to another that has already called the county office? Do you use certain words when speaking to your children in the car ride to church than you do inside the school on Monday afternoon?

5 Chapter 8 What can I do to make the other person’s day better?
Good leaders don’t have just the desire to be better; they have the discipline to push themselves toward excellence. Ask yourself: What can I do to make the other person’s day better? What can I do to make the other person’s day easier? How can I do better at working with my APs? How would I rate my performance yesterday as a parent, supervisor, friend, or spouse? Exceeding Normal Expectations in what the driver called the most important fare of his life. Every job is a self-portrait of the person behind it. Reflection Is there room in your life today to be a nose better than you were yesterday? How? Tell your elbow partner.

7 Chapter 9 OPTIMISITIC CONFIDENCE Conveyed through three (3) areas
Body language (WHAT YOU DO) Words (WHAT YOU SAY) Tone, pitch, vocal quality and volume (HOW YOU SAY IT) Leaders believe in the greatness that exists in others and work to release it.

9 Chapter 9 The alternatives to Optimistic Confidence are lukewarm neutrality and pessimistic doubt. 1- Have you ever encountered these in someone? 2- How did it make you feel? Could you be the source of these attitudes and behaviors for another person? Find someone you don’t normally converse with and share your thoughts about point 1 and 2.
