The History Founded in 1953 at University of Massachusetts- Amherst Dr. Gideon “Guy”Livingston & 6 Graduate Students. Minnesota Chapter chartered in 1981 by Dr. Elwood Caldwell Mission “To raise the stature and recognize scholarly achievements of the Food Science and Technology profession.” Minnesota Chapter of Phi Tau Sigma!

Jenny Hayek About Jenny:
A self-proclaimed science nerd at heart, Jenny is especially interested in Food Chemistry She is working on the millet project with the Ismail Lab! Her ideal career would be to eventually teach and do research after obtaining a PhD. Fun Facts: She loves reading, running, superhero movies, cooking, and trips to the North Shore.

Lijun Duan About Lijun:
Recipient of the Robert Henton Fund Scholarship Two years of work experience with food pathogens Completed internships with Lonestar Grazer Creamery and Chocolat Celeste Fun Facts: She loves food, all food! She especially loves making desserts. “Creating something so joyful out of ingredients so small is fascinating.”

Abbie Hohman About Abbie:
IFTSA North Central Area Representative Internships with SunOpta and POET (a biorefining company) Undergraduate experiences included studying abroad in France and conducting research in a microbiology lab. Fun Facts: I LOVE ice cream, running, and spending time at the lake.
