1. THE HOUSE OF MERCY
Text: John 5:1-15

2. "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." John 4:10

3. "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14
"Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14. But whoever drinks the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.“ John 4:13,14

4. I. HE ACCEPTED HIS PRESENT CONDITION

5. II. HE LOOKED TO MUCH TO OTHERS
"'Sir,' the invalid replied, 'I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me'" John 5:7

6. III. HE BENEFITED FROM HIS CONDITION
"If any has material possession and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him." I John 3:17

7. III. HE BENEFITED FROM HIS CONDITION
"Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes or daily food. 16. If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well fed, but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?'" James 2:15,16

8. IV. HE NEVER RECOGNIZED THAT JESUS WAS NEAR HIM
"Sir " John 5:7 "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." John 5:8

9. IV. HE NEVER RECOGNIZED THAT JESUS WAS NEAR HIM
"The woman [at the well] said, 'I know the Messiah' (called the Christ) is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us. 26. Then Jesus declared, 'I who speak to you am he.'" John 4:25,26

"The man who was healed had no idea who it was." John 5:13

"See you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you. 15. The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well." John 5:14,15
