Seeing Him As Love
3
1 John 5:14-15 14. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
4
Hebrews 1:3 (AMP) 3. He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature…
5
Colossians 1:15 (AMP) 15. [Now] He is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]…
6
John 14:7 7. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him. 8. Philip said to Him, “Lord show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9. Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?”
7
How do you see God?
8
1 John 4:8-11 8. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
9
1 John 4:19 19. We love Him because he first loved us.
10
Romans 5:8-9 (AMP) 8. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us. 9. Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.
11
Romans 5:10-11 Reconciliation: katallagé
10. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Reconciliation: katallagé - Restoration to favor, an exchange [reconciliation (restoration) as the resulting of Christ exactly (precisely) exchanging His righteousness (blood) for our guilt]
12
Do you see yourself favored by God
Do you see yourself favored by God? Are you still trying to earn and work for His favor? -It makes all the difference
13
Genesis 17:23-24 23. So Abraham took Ishamel his son, all who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very same day, as God had said to him. 24. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
14
Genesis 18:1-5 1. Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. 2. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, 3. And said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. 4. Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. 5. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.” They said, “Do as you have said.”
15
Genesis 18:7 7. And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it.
16
Genesis 18:16-17 16. Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. 17. And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing?”
17
Genesis 19:1-3 1. Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. 2. And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.” 3. But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
18
James 2:23 23. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
19
Psalms 103:7 7. He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.
20
Hebrews 11:24-27 24. By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, 26. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. 27. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
21
John 15:12-15 12. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
22
John 20:17 17. Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God’.”
23
Galatians 4:4-6 4. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5. To redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
