Write the definition of improper fraction and mixed number.
HOMEWORK
Start reading Multiplying Fractions and Mixed Numbers on page 252 and do problems 1-31 on page 255.
Start reading Lesson 3-3, Temperature, Thermal Energy and Heat from pages
Start reading Lesson 2-2, Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions, pages 41 to 49.
TEST
Multiplying Fractions and Mixed Number Test. 10 problems.
Thermometer Reading test. We will use the Farenheit scale for this test.
Test is on changing an improper fraction to a mixed number.
EXTRA CREDIT
Make the foldable on page 228. Label on side with lesson 5-5 and use it to place your notes on it. Keep this foldable in your folder and add more lessons when get to them later on in the school year
Make a model showing how a thermometer works. Make sure it is labeled and bring it to class. You can make one that shows Farenheit, Celsius, or Kelvin scale.
Make six fraction pies and color the pieces and show me what an improper fraction and mixed number looks like .Bring in on Thursday or Friday for extra credit.
