Anyways, BlueHost does not actually give you 5 domain names that re-direct to your main domain name, like it sounds. You need to purchase all five domain names and they “allow you” to redirect them. If you are interested in purchasing multiple domains to all point to one website, purchase in bulk at NameCheap.com 5 accounts. If you have a domain registered elsewhere, you will need to re-purchase it here. So it is cheaper to re-direct the domain name to your new domain here.

Domain Privacy Protection – if you check no for this, input a PO Box for your address, your work number for a phone number and an address where you send junk mail for the address. Site Backup Pro – you can backup your website manually to your computer or cloud drive yourself, or purchase this to have BlueHost do it for you. “Search Engine JumpStart” – this is snake oil, don’t purchase it (if you want to know why, Shoot me a message via the “contact” page on my website). SiteLock Security – if you plan to sell things through your website, purchase this LATER when you begin selling things. You DO NOT NEED IT until you begin selling through your website.

Uncheck everything you don’t want. You can always purchase these add-ons later for the same price.

Once you complete the registration and choose your password, you’ll be taken to this website. This is your dashboard. Scroll down.

Input the domain name that you purchased. Click next

Site Name or Title – this will be displayed in the search results on Search Engines Fill in the info, check the boxes. Click install Don’t let a pro do it for you (it is recommended because you’ll be paying someone $99 to do what I’m about to show you how to do for free)

Option 1 – type in Total theme, that’s the one I use & I’ll explain why in later slides. Option 2 – type in your profession to see the most popular themes for your industry.

This is the best theme, because: Once you purchase the theme you can upload it to as many of your websites as you wish (Mojo themes can only beused for the website you purchased through BlueHost) 2. This theme has everything you need to design every type of website. If it doesn’t have a feature you need, there’s a 98% chance it will be compatible with the plugin you need for that feature. 3. Each theme has a different author and therefore takes a bit of time to figure out. If you select one theme that works for a bunch of different websites, it will save you a lot of time in the long run. If you choose a custom theme for each website you build, you will need to allow yourself 2-3 days to learn each new theme.

Once you’ve purchased and downloaded your theme, click “here” to access your WordPress website to install your new theme

Follow the link to log in to your new website.

Use the username & password you just created to log in to your new website.

The information you type in here is the information that will appear in search results on search engines.

Choose one. If you will have a blog on your website but the blog is not the main attraction say “no”

Choose this one if your website is a blog only Choose this one if your website is for a company or online store

You always want potential customers to be able to contact you

You already bought SiteLock and are going to get free data from GoogleAnalytics

If you are an internet based store, choose not now. If your store or office has a physical location choose next step.

If you will be selling products through your website take this time to effortlessly follow the prompts to complete the installation of WooCommerce

It is easier to delete the pages that you don’t want, later

Change this to whichever state your company is registered in because it will use this to calculate your sales tax

I chose allow because I’d love for them to make company decisions based upon how I use the app

If you chose to create your first product, you’ll be brought to this page. But let’s focus on installing your theme for now. So click “Appearance”

The theme must be installed in a .zip format

It may take a few minutes to install your theme

Plugins are sort of like other apps that a theme may use to perform various functions. Once you’ve installed your theme, you may need to install some plugins before you can start designing your website

1. Click Bulk Actions to change the option to “Install” 2. Check the box next to “Plugin”

When your page looks like this. Click “Apply”

Once you reach this page. Congratulate yourself. You are now finished designing your website.
