Read 100 sight words Use pictures to predict what will happen After hearing or reading a story, be able to tell what happened in the beginning, middle and end. Read at level 4 or 6 by the end of the year.

Each day your child will bring home a behavior note that indicates how their day went. Please ask your child for this. Good Note Oops! (Warning) Uh-Oh! (time out) Yikes! (Loss of privilege) Danger! (Talk with parent and/or Principal)

Kindergarten Expectations Math
-Sorting by 2D, 3D shapes, size and color -Reading a graph -Patterns: noticing the repeating parts, creating them -Position Words: top, bottom, middle, left, right -Counting by 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Using the 100’s chart to predict what count comes next. -Numeral Recognition and writing -Using a ten frame, be able to add to it or take away to make a new number. -Addition & subtraction to 5 -Counting up to 20 objects & matching numeral to set.

Morning Kindergarten Hours: 8:00-11:40 Lunch: 10:30-10:50 Afternoon Kindergarten Hours: 10:05-1:45 Lunch: 10:40-11:00 Please make sure you have your child at school on time. If you are late, your child MUST go through the office!

Arrival & Dismissal Bus Riders: will be walked to their bus.
Drop off and pick-up at the Kindergarten classroom door Bus Riders: will be walked to their bus. Please notify the teacher in writing, if there are any changes in dismissal procedures. Your child telling us is not enough. If your child is not picked up on time, they will be waiting in the office for you.

You can help! Daily backpack check-look for notes, (do they have a Good Note?) & review work. Read to your child daily. Praise every accomplishment. Encourage best work. Contact your teacher with questions or concerns. Review letters, sounds, sight words, numbers daily.
