Crime was on an increasing trend since 2009. Crime decreased slightly in Sea Gate, Coney Island, and Brighton Beach after Sandy

Map out crime for neighbourhoods in recovery across NYC New Data: BYTES of the Big Apple Borough Boundaries Shapefile Precincts Shapefile Neighbourhoods Shapefile Nyc.gov: Neighbourhoods in recovery (Lower Manhattan, Southern and Eastern coast of SI, Southern Brooklyn/Queens, Brooklyn/Queens waterfront). Crime Stats for precincts.

Analysis Not inconclusive but not concrete.
Crime in Lower Manhattan did increase after Sandy. Southern coast of Staten Island saw crime increase. Southern Queens and Brooklyn Waterfront saw some crime increase but could be due to the 5 year increasing trend.

Importance Possible Future Investigation
Consider crime in other precincts throughout the city. Focus on a specific type of crime. Look into gentrification. Look into property value change. Help the city better prepare itself for crime increase in specific areas incase of future hurricanes/superstorms.
