2 Introduce Yourself Position: Service Manager What do you notice?
Response #1: I am pursuing a business management from Portland State University. I have good interpersonal communication skills and mathematical skills. I have volunteered as a math tutor in the Math department at PSU. I interacted with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff coming from different backgrounds and countries on a daily basis. My multicultural experience and ability to speak both English and Arabic allowed me to build relationships between the international community and the math department. What do you notice?

3 Introduce Yourself Position: Electrical Project Coordinator
Response #2: I am pursuing electronics and communication engineering from Portland State University. I have good analytical skills. I prefer to do smart work instead of hard work. I believe in achieving maximum output with minimum input. Having done internships at Cambia Health Care and Pacific Corp., I have had exposure to the corporate world. I was able to apply my knowledge of engineering in a real world setting. What do you notice?

4 Practice Introducing Yourself (1-2 minutes long)
Write a paragraph introducing yourself. If you are a college student, highlight internships, college projects, previous relevant experiences (travel, volunteering, multilingual/ multicultural experiences.) If you already have job experience, highlight positive attributes and transferable skills. Explain how your background connects with the job description With a partner practice introducing yourself. One person be the interviewer and the other be the interviewee.

5 Strengths Employer/ Interviewer: Tell us about your strengths.
Possible Responses: I am a good team player. I believe that putting each skill set to its best use helps strengthen the team and achieve the highest quality of work for project. I am adaptable. For my past jobs, I had limited resources & had to adapt my approaches so that I could best meet the client's’ needs.

6 Practice sharing about your strengths
Write a paragraph about your strengths. Education Previous Jobs Previous experiences (i.e. travel, volunteering, internships) With a partner practice sharing your strengths. One person be the interviewer and the other be the interviewee.

7 Weaknesses Employer/ Interviewer: Tell us about your weaknesses
*Note: Talk about your weaknesses as areas of growth. Response: I am a self-starter and an independent worker. While many times these qualities are a strength, sometimes I need to depend on others to help me accomplish a task. I have learned to ask for help when I need it.

9 Important things to remember
Bring an extra copy of your resume In the United States a firm handshake and eye contact is a sign of confidence (Note: If it is not appropriate for you to shake the hand of your interviewer or look into their eyes due to religious or personal beliefs, explain this to your interviewer) Bring at least 2 questions that you want to ask the company or employer about
