8 Snowboarding history Snowboarding became an Olympic event in 1998. 2006 Torino the U.S. came to the XXOlympic Winter games with more snowboarding Medals than any other nation in the brief Olympic History of the sport and proceeded to that haul in Torino American snowboarders claimed 7 of 18 medals awarded, Including 3 out of 6 golds.

10 Shaun White Shaun White was born September 3, 1986 in Carlsbad CA. He is an American professional snowboarder and skateboarder. He rides regular stance 12 and –3 degrees on his board. He is known for his red hair for which he’s been called the “Flying Tomato”. He won a gold in the X games 2010.
