November 8, 2015 Zechariah From Sins to Eternal Salvation

10 Then I turned and raised my eyes, and saw there a flying scroll.
2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” So I answered, “I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits (30’) and its width ten cubits (15’).”

11 3 Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth: ‘Every thief shall be expelled,’ according to this side of the scroll; and, ‘Every perjurer shall be expelled,’ according to that side of it.”

12 Curse on the THIEF and the LIAR

13 God’s Standard for Relationships
Psalm 50 Commandment When you saw a thief, you consented with him… Thou shalt not steal …you have been a partaker with adulterers Thou shalt not commit adultery You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit Thou shalt not bear false witness against they neighbour “These things you have done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was altogether like you; but I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes.”

14 4 “I will send out the curse,” says the Lord of hosts; “It shall enter the house of the thief And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It shall remain in the midst of his house And consume it, with its timber and stones.”

15 5 Then the angel who was talking with me
came forward and said, “Look up and see what’s coming.” 6 “What is it?” I asked.

16 everyone throughout the land.”
He replied, “It is a basket for measuring grain, and it’s filled with the sins of everyone throughout the land.”

17 God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself…21 For He made Him
who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5

18 7 Then the heavy lead cover was lifted off the basket, and there was a woman sitting inside it. 8 The angel said, “The woman’s name is Wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and closed the heavy lid again.

19 Whenever a woman appears symbolically
in Scripture, there is always reference to something wrong in the realm of religion. (I did not invent that, the Scriptures did.)

20 Here, then, is the picture of the judgment of the false faith, the false church,
very much as we find in the book of Revelation where a woman who is the false church is called Babylon the great.

21 Zechariah sees the same thing;
God's judgment upon hypocritical religion, false faith. Ray Stedman

22

23 9 Then I looked up and saw two women
flying toward us, gliding on the wind. They had wings like a stork, and they picked up the basket and flew into the sky. 10 “Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel.

24 when it is ready, the basket will be
11 And he said to me, “To build a house [temple] for it in the land of Shinar [Babylonia]; when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its base.”

25 9 …they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:9-10

27 by white horses, and the fourth by powerful dappled-gray horses.
Then I looked up again and saw four chariots coming from between two bronze mountains. 2 The first chariot was pulled by red horses, the second by black horses, 3 the third by white horses, and the fourth by powerful dappled-gray horses.

28 4 “And what are these, my lord
4 “And what are these, my lord?” I asked the angel who was talking with me. 5 The angel replied, “These are the four spirits of heaven who stand before the Lord of all the earth. They are going out to do His work.

29 20 Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. 21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure. Psalm 103:20-21

30 3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind, 4 Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire. Psalm 104:3-4

31 6 The chariot with black horses
is going north, the chariot with white horses are going after them, and the chariot with dappled-gray horses is going south.”

33 7 The powerful horses were eager to set out
to patrol the earth. And the Lord said, “Go and patrol the earth!” So they left at once on their patrol.

34 8 Then He called to me, “Look, those going toward the north country have given My Spirit rest in the land of the north.”

35 to judge all the nations of the earth and the Tribulation period.”
Zechariah’s Vision “In the vision of the four chariots…the emphasis is upon the fact that God intends to judge all the nations of the earth and the four chariots represent those judgments. All of them are to take place during the Tribulation period.”

36 John’s Vision “When the white horse rides forth, he will bring a victory and will set up a false peace upon the earth. The world will think it is entering the Millennium when actually it will be entering the Great Tribulation period.

37 John’s Vision “Immediately after the white horse there will come the red horse of war – war breaks out worldwide – followed by the black horse of famine. Famine generally follows war as do plagues and death, which are symbolized by the fourth, the pale horse.” Various Commentators

38 9 Then I received another message from the Lord: 10 “Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah will bring gifts of silver and gold from the Jews exiled in Babylon. As soon as they arrive, meet them at the home of Josiah son of Zephaniah.

44 11 Accept their gifts, and make a crown from the silver and gold.

45 on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak,
11 Accept their gifts, and make a crown from the silver and gold. Then put the crown on the head of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Why not Zerubbabel – governor, and descendant of King David?

46 God was not going to restore the line of David through Zerubbabel.
The one who will wear the crown of David will be the Lord Jesus Christ when He establishes His kingdom on earth. When He makes the nations of this world His footstool and is crowned King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

47 NOTE THE SEQUENCE: Judgment of God on His people Judgment of God on the Gentile nations of this world Coming of Christ Crowning Him as King of Kings and Lord of Lords

51 15 …And this shall come to pass if you diligently obey the voice
of the Lord your God.” Zechariah 5-6

52 What Next? God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself…21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5
