Net Force-the force that results from combining all the forces exerted on an object

Add together the forces to determine the net force

Subtract the smaller force from the larger one to determine the net force

Unbalanced forces produce a change in motion
When the net force on an object is not zero
Necessary to cause a nonmoving object to move
Necessary to change the motion of moving objects
Moving object can continue to move when unbalanced forces are removed

When a net force of zero is produced
Do not cause nonmoving objects to move
