1 Day by day Coeducation from French students (12, 15) point of view.
A survey concerning 600 students (from 6 high schools in 3 cities).

2 Questions concerning the survey
How do boys and girls live and work together at school? Do they mix up together? Do they relate to their teachers the same way? Do they learn the same way?

3 Boys and girls mixing up for work and leisure.
They do not mix up much to study French and mathematics. Same thing for leisure at school or outside.

4 Relating to their teachers.
They feel better taken in charge by female teachers. They get along better with their male teachers.

5 How do girls and boys relate to their male/female teachers.
Boys feel the same interest from their male/female teachers, this is not the case for girls. Boys get along better with their male teachers than with their female ones.

6 The way they perceive the teaching.
Boys get bored more often and can’t stay seated all day. Between 13 and 15 school is more difficult to live for them. Girls are more concerned with what others think of them

7 French Girls feel definitely more comfortable with french than boys :
They like reading more than boys do. It’s easier for them to describe their feeling and emotions and those of the characters. They are more interested by the books they have to read at school and by the essays they have to write.

8 mathematics Boys are more at ease than girls :
They like it better than girls do They are more interested by the subjects. Those differences tend to diminish with age.

9 Conclusion Do they mix up? Do they have the same kind of relationship
Not much : they stand side by side, but not together. Do they have the same kind of relationship with their teacher? It depends whether the teachers and the students are males or females. Do they receive the teaching the same way? French teaching is more adapted to the girls and Maths teaching to the boys.

10 Some directions for the future
Teaching boys and girls how to live together with esteem. In the relationship, take to account the sex of the teachers and students. Adapt the way of teaching the subject matters according to the sex of the students.
