Prepositional phrase = Preposition (list) + Object of the Preposition (noun or pronoun)
What are some examples of prepositional phrases?
Prepositional phrases cannot contain a noun/pronoun-verb pair.
“…but she was tired.
“Since I visited the store…”
“…since that day.”

4. Writing with Prepositional Phrases
The beach is a welcoming vacation spot. It’s sunny and warm, and the water is cool. Whenever my family visits the beach, we spend hours swimming and playing. I help my little brother build sand castles while my parents surf. Going home is disappointing, but we return every year.

5. Writing with Prepositional Phrases
Peer review each others’ revised paragraphs based on the following criteria:
Do the added prepositions enhance the paragraph (i.e. make it more interesting, more detailed, etc.)?
Does the paragraph sound natural with the added prepositions?
Provide feedback and suggest how the other person can improve their paragraph.

Write a paragraph that describes your favorite food.
Reference the five senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing.
Must be at least five sentences long.
Must contain at least five prepositional phrases; underline each one.
