Analysis beginning of 2016 Negotiations with national operators during Spring 2016 Communication and presentation of negotiated remedies towards participants

3 HOW DOES IT WORK? Consumer came to our website
Asked him/her to perform a speedtest Standard Test Methodology STEP 1: select the fastest server STEP 2: calculate the latency STEP 3: perform sequential/parallel downloads to calculate the download speed during the speedtest STEP 4: perform sequential/parallel uploads to calculate the upload speed during the speedtest Asked him/her to indicate his/her provider and contract This allowed us afterwards to calculate the difference between what speed was measured and the speed that was promised to the consumers

4 WHAT’S NEXT? (1) Internet Speed Campaign relaunch?
Started as a one-shot campaign Main objective was to create awareness amongst consumers that are paying too much Relaunch beginning of 2017 Did the proposed remedies by the national operators have the desired effect?

5 WHAT’S NEXT? (2) Internet Speedtest Campaign relaunch?
Improve our Internet Speedtest Module Consider the feedback from providers to better asses the collected data Increase accuracy and deduce certain consumer patterns

How can our campaign help? Started as a one-shot campaign Main objective was to create awareness amongst consumers that are paying too much Relaunch beginning of 2017, maybe keep it continuously? Did the proposed remedies by the national operators have the desired effect?

How can our campaign help? Granularity of the data collected? Depends on the possible relaunch ( …..) Frequency to provide updated data sets Quarterly if continuously available Possible issues? Only reference to locate a test for now is the postal code of the participant, would this be sufficient? Share content and personal information from participant in line with our privacy rules Aline internally (and externally) on possibility to share our collected data with the Mapping Application

8 FIRST RESULTS (after 1 month of testing)
With the total amount of speedtests performed by all the ‘usefull’ users we were able to obtain the following statistics on the compensation price results (without 10% of ‘worst’ results): The total calculated amount of compensation: € ,63 for 1 year The maximum calculated compensation price: € 1.057,32 for 1 year The average calculated compensation price: € 227,91 for 1 year Merci pour votre attention Thanks for your attention Des questions?
