3 Things which could help….
What is good about this space? Revision prompts/displays/posters/timetables Run through slide 30 seconds. Hydration Music? Resources

4 Revision prompts/displays/posters/timetables
Your brain is constantly recording information whether you are conscious of it or not. Displaying important information in a place that you will view on a regular basis is an excellent way of creating strong memories. Mind maps, post it notes, long and short term revision timetables can all be displayed in this way. Be realistic when making your plan. Revise in no more than minute slots, before taking a break. Run through slide. 1 min.

6 Resources The internet is a wonderful source of information. It gives you access to past papers, mark schemes, video clips and websites that can really boost your understanding……… However…… The internet also contains a lot of information that is not specific to GCSE’s or to the exam boards that you are studying….. bbc bitesize can be useful but not if you are studying the wrong material. And……… Electronic devices can be a source of distraction. If necessary unplug when you need to concentrate. All pupils should have the revision guides for ALL subjects they study. These are very specific to the knowledge they require for that exam board. Run through slide. 1 min

7 Stay Healthy-Body and Mind!
Water not fizzy drinks Healthy food not junk food Take a break from electronic items…..especially near bedtime

8 Summary of things which could help:
Exercise/Sport Having a plan and sticking to it! Healthy food and water Relaxation and breathing techniques Proper sleep Not passing out with exhaustion

9 Planning my time Do I have a long term plan?
Do I have a short term plan? Have you prioritised in your plan? E.g. Which topics do I struggle with? What do I need to do between now and May/when will I do it? It can be a stressful time, but planning and managing time will reduce this. There is support available if you need it. Main begins here and will take 15 mins. 5 mins to run through the next 4 slides and then 10 to complete their own plan.

Encourage your child to memorise key spellings of wider vocabulary (they will be given a list of key spellings in class 4. Read non-fiction texts with your child 5. Make sure these students attend their intervention and look carefully at the past papers.

17 How to apply skills, knowledge and understanding
Repeat all questions covered in class, especially 6 mark questions and How Science Work questions Practice past papers in 3 different colours: First colour: in ‘exam conditions’ (for the given amount of time – 1h15 / 1h30) Second colour: use unit sheets, textbook, internet, notes… to try to improve your answer and attempt answering all questions Third colour: use mark scheme to correct your paper And repeat it over and over again until you get full marks and know the past paper by heart!
