Overview The OCE project is a public-private partnership between The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Shift Health, the company that developed a digital patient-engagement platform (TickiT®) This partnership provides SickKids the opportunity to utilize e-health technology in a clinical setting, while receiving ongoing technical support from the industry partner

Project aims: Engage patients and staff in the care continuum Contribute to process improvement initiatives Collect patient-reported data to improve clinical care workflows and service delivery

TickiT® is an interactive mobile patient engagement platform created by Shift Health Tool used to collect patient- and staff-reported data

Critical Care Unit Quality
Project: The MyVoice survey Safety reporting platform for families Implementation: CCU Quality Team member in the CCU asks parents at the bedside to complete the MyVoice survey

Rehabilitation Department Quality
Project: Patient satisfaction survey Implementation: Survey administered by a Physiotherapist or Occupational therapist in out-patient and in-patient clinics across the hospital Survey kiosk installed in Rehabilitation Clinic beside reception desk

Teen Clinic Quality Project: patient satisfaction reporting from patients that are in teen clinics Transgender Youth Clinic Young Families Program Eating Disorder Program Substance Abuse Program SickKids Interprofessional Team for Youth (SITY)

Cardiology Clinic Research
Project aim: Development and implementation of an education intervention in the Fetal Cardiac Program for prenatal mothers Implementation plan: TickiT® will be used to collect patient-reported demographic and psychosocial data TickiT® will be used to deliver and facilitate learning using content developed by AboutKidsHealth Estimated start date: June 1st 2016

Emergency Department Clinical
Project aim: Development and implementation of a youth mental health screening tool Implementation plan: TickiT ® survey will consist of validated, clinically relevant screening tools: Youth Perception Survey CRAFFT (substance abuse screening tool) Columbia Suicide Screener (suicide risk screening tool) Estimated start date: July 1st 2016

Plastic Surgery Clinic Clinical
Project aim: Development of rapport-building tool for patients with cranial-facial anomalies who are part of a long-term treatment plan Implementation plan: Survey developed in collaboration with Chief of Plastic Surgery along with OCE team and Shift Health Estimated start date: May 15th 2016

Limitation and Lessons Learned
Reliable Wi-fi connection throughout hospital iPad security issues (chargers) Completion rates and survey fatigue (Teen Clinic Survey) Scope of project

Conclusion A public-private partnership allows for
efficient project development, exchange of knowledge, and technical support between partners Surveys are developed based on consistent gaps and pain-points experienced in different clinics at SickKids
