1 ICT : Module III - Instructional Design Dr
ICT : Module III - Instructional Design Dr. Savita Sable Principal-MCT’s College of Education & Research Airoli, Navi Mumbai Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

2 Go through the following links:
Instructional Design Do you know the historical background of Panchtantra Tales. Go through the following links: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/panchatantra Panchatantra is a unique Book or Designed Instructions. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

3 Let us understand the stages of its development Need Analysis: The real life need , the king desired his sons to be wise princes. Target Analysis : Three prince’s inability to learn Content Analysis : Science, politics, diplomacy, philosophy etc in the form of unique composition of Tales. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

4 Strategies : Nitishastra—Science of wise conduct.
Instructional Method: Imparting stories, Animal fables to impart wisdom Strategies : Nitishastra—Science of wise conduct. Content Development : Panchatantra was composed into an entertaining five part work to communicate the essence of diplomacy, relationships, politics and administration to the princes through colorful tales within six months. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

5 Implementation: Reciting , explaining and illustrating the unique composition of tales based on older oral teachings and stories. Learning outcome: Makes the princes wise to the ways of politics and leadership. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

6 What is Instructional Design
It is strategic planning of a course. It is a blueprint that you design and follow. To put it in a simple way Instructional material are : Designed Developed Delivered Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

7 ADDIE model of Instructional Design
The ADDIE model is a generic, systematic approach to the instructional design process used by instructional designers. The acronym "ADDIE" stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate  Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

8 ADDIE model Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

9 We will go through one of the lesson plan developed based on ADDIE model of Instructional Design.
Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

10 Instructional Design : ADDIE MODEL ON STD. IX Science
Topic :Cell-The Unit Of Life Age Group : 13 to 14 Years Time Frame : 6 Periods of 30 minutes each Need Analysis : The Pupil need to acquire knowledge about the basic unit of life i.e CELL, as it is the structural and functional unit of life. Target Analysis : Teacher explains that the cell is the origin of every living thing (plants and animals) and also explains the importance of the cell. General Learning Preferences : Teacher will explain the meaning and structure of the cell and also functions of each organelle of the cell. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

11 Sub Topics : 1.Discovery of cell.
Content Analysis : Sub Topics : 1.Discovery of cell. 2. Morphology of cell. (Size and shape) 3. Difference between plant cell and animal cell. 4. Cell structure. Objectives : Knowledge : To enable the pupil to acquire knowledge about the concept of Cell; being structural and functional unit of living thing. Understanding : To enable the pupil to understand the difference between the plant cell and animal cell and the structure and functions of each organelle of the cell. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

12 Application : To enable pupil to apply the knowledge of internal structure of cell in the different fields related to life like biotechnology for survival of species which are on the verge of extinction , stem cells utilization ,cloning , test tube babies etc. Skill : Let the pupil to find out the utilization of knowledge of cells in new topics like crossing of genes ,and develop new organisms either in plants or animals Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

13 Instructional Method :
1. It is essentially a Classroom based Teaching where computer is attached to projector And also charts and models can be used to explain the different organs of the cell. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

14 Learner Outcomes : Knowledge : Student recalls the meaning of cell, difference between the plant cell and animal cell Understanding : Student will be able to recognize the sizes and shapes of different organs of the cell. Application : Student will be able to identify the function of each organ of the cell; situated at different places in the living body. Analysis : Student will be able to give example of bacterial disease, viral disease. Interest : Student will develop the interest in finding out the various types of cells and their nature situated at different places in our body; eg. Bones are made up of which cells? Why r they hard? Why blood is in liquid state? etc. Attitude : Student look more confident in giving the answers related to physiology of cell and their implications indifferent fields like, heredity characteristics etc. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

15 1. Revision of exercise questions.
Development : Teacher will show power point slides which consist of pictures and videos related to structure and function of each part of cell, and will make it more interesting by giving them some activity to students in preparing models of the same. Implementation : 1. Revision of exercise questions. 2. After revision let student tell their problem related to understanding of the topic. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

16 Formative evaluation : Questions :
1.Identify the correct cell organelle from the jumbled spellings: SUNCLUE BERISOOM SOLEYSMO APSDITL COONIMITDARH COAVELU 2.Name the part of the cell that— Stores vital substance. Transfers hereditary information. Is composed of cellulose. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

17 Dick and Carey Model The Dick and Carey Model includes the follwing step process Stage 1: Identify Instructional Goals Stage 2. Conduct Instructional Analysis Stage 3. Identify Entry Behaviors and Learner Characteristics Stage 4: Write Performance Objectives Stage 5. Develop Criterion-Referenced Test Items Stage 6. Develop Instructional Strategy Stage 7: Develop and Select Instructional Materials Stage 8: Develop and Conduct Formative Evaluation Stage 9: Develop and Conduct Summative Evaluation Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai

18 The above discussed models of Instructional Design enable us to improve our instructions. Share your views about the necessities of a Quality Instructions. Coordinator- Dr Hemlata Chari & Mandar Bhanushe, IDOL, University of Mumbai
