Weighting: 20%
Task : Individual investigation

3. TIme allocation 10 hours includes: Teacher explaining the requirements
Class time for students to work on IA (design, lab, asking questions)
Time for consultation
Time to review and monitor progress, and check authenticity

4. What is it? Scientific investigation taking 10 hours
Write-up should be 6-12 pages long
Investigation should require purposeful research question and scientific rationale
Possible tasks:
hands-on laboratory investigation
using a spreadsheet for analysis and modelling
extracting data from a database and analyzing it graphically
producing a hybrid of spreadsheet/database work with a traditional hands-on investigation
using a simulation provided it is interactive and open-ended
