Create an Illuminated Poem About Medieval Society
Create an Illuminated Poem About Medieval Society Create an illuminated poem that clearly demonstrates your understanding of how Europe changed after the fall of the Roman Empire and describes life during the Medieval period. Requirements 1. Should be written and illustrated on ½ of a piece of poster board. Nothing bigger, nothing smaller, nothing else 2. Your poem must reflect a clear understanding on the most important topics covered in the unit. Ex. ( Chivalry, The Crusades, Black Death, Feudalism, power of the Church) 3 Your poem must have 8 short stanzas. Each may vary in length. These stanzas can be handwritten on typed and then glued onto your board. Use descriptive language to create an exciting and imaginative poem. The reader should get a feel for life in this period of history. 4. The first letter of your poem M will be illuminated. This means you will decorate the letter with designs or symbols that represent medieval society. 5. The first letter of each line will then spell out the word “MEDIEVAL”. Therefore, the first letter of the poem will begin with an “M”, the first word of the second stanza will begin with an “E”, and so on. 6. Decorate each picture with at least one picture. These pictures must be colored!!!. These can be placed in the margins, in the background, or within the poem itself. Choose pictures that relate to your poem and help illustrate your idea. These pictures must be hand drawn and colored—no computer stuff. Do not use pencil in your final producrt.
