Status of Soil Health Card Scheme
A total of about 2.53 crore soil samples are required to be collected and tested to generate about 14 crore Soil Health Cards (SHC) to individual farmers in a cycle of 2 years. The first cycle is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year

Recommendations of Group
Online Sample Registration Field should be simplified; It was decided to delete some fields in National portal of SHC, for example: Village Pin number Farmers address Sample source type Source name Soil type etc….

In sample registration for additional Farmers of same grid only field for farmers’ history details should be displayed Type of fertilizers should be included in soft ware as per requirement of state NIC should develop offline sample registration synchronization system

Number of servers and capacity of servers should be increased to minimize the time of data entry; Online sample allocation to lab/ soil analyst process may be removed from SHC PORTAL ; The Cycle for SHC programme may be of three years and the first cycle period may be extended up to March 2018; .

ICAR/KVKs/SAUs should be instructed to participate with full lab capacity in SHC program DGS&D rate can be provided for costly instrument like AAS. “Bhuvan” based platform will be used to provide SMS based and soft copy of soil health card services
