2 Mission Statement and Security Plan
“Dedicated to the permanent termination of security issues around the globe.” Black Ice Security Systems’ main goal is to provide the best service, products, and prices to its clients. Our security plan is very simple. There will be an iris scanner and Palm Vein scanner at every security checkpoint at every airport. There will always be one TSA agent at the scanners so nobody tries to skip it. It will most likely be placed before the metal detector screenings because they are more accurate.

3 The images above may be the technology that could be used at security checkpoints at the airport. These are the palm vein scanner(left) and the iris recognition scanner(right). The palm scanner in the image cost $ and the iris scanner cost $

4 Accuracy and Limitations
Accuracy of Palm Vein Scanner: The PalmSecure technology false accept rate is just percent with an exceptional false reject rate of 0.01 percent, all in a small form factor that generates extremely fast authentication, usually under one second. Accuracy of Iris Scanner: It is the most accurate of all biometrics. The chance of finding two randomly formed identical irises is at an impossible number of 1 quinquavigintillion or 1 * 10^78 power. Limitations: Limitations include: being blind, having cataracts, gender, race, and having chemical residue on hands. There may be ethical issues with people that may feel embarrassed if the scans isn’t done correctly or isn’t working correctly. People may not want devices like these to have their personal information creating it difficult for TSA agents.

5 How to “beat” the System
Palm Vein Scanner: It can be beaten by using gelatin to imitate the real person’s palm but that wouldn’t work in the veins vascular pattern because the patterns aren't the same.in people. Iris Scanner: It can possibly be beaten using colored contacts or a high quality image of an iris.

6 Success Story Airport security stopped a big time fake federal agent who failed the iris scan from leaving the country with very important information about the United States of America. The classified information included information that would have damaged our national security. Without this technology, this invader would have ran away and our country would crumble under its founding fathers.

7 The Science of how Iris Scanners work
Before scanning the iris, the iris is located using landmark features. This allows the scanner to isolate the iris. Each person’s pupil is unique. After scanning the iris once, it’s not necessary to repeatedly update the scan of the iris because the iris remains the same over time as long as there are no injuries. The initial scanning of the iris doesn’t use lasers or bright lights. Today’s commercial iris cameras use infrared lights to illuminate the iris without causing discomfort to the eye. Iris cameras take a digital photo of the iris pattern and recreates it in a coded template on the security computers at the airport. The coded template cannot be reproduced. Iris recognition therefore creates the highest level defense against identity thief.

8 The Science of how Palm Vein Scanners Work?
The pattern of blood veins is unique to every individual, even among identical twins. Palms have a broad and complicated vascular pattern and which contain different features for personal identification. Palm pattern will not vary during the person's lifetime. It is a very secure method of authentication because this blood vein pattern lies under the skin. This makes it very difficult for others to read or copy. An individual's vein pattern image is captured by radiating his/her hand with near-infrared rays. The reflection method illuminates the palm using an infrared ray and captures the light given off by the region after diffusion through the palm. The deoxidized hemoglobin in the in the vein vessels absorbs the infrared ray, thereby reducing the reflection rate and causing the veins to appear as a black pattern. This vein pattern is then verified against a preregistered pattern to authenticate the individual.

9 Issues of Privacy Biometrics are permanent and can never be replaced if compromised. The user can potentially be tracked if organizations share their respective biometric databases while traditional authentication schemes requires the user to maintain different identities to prevent tracking. Privacy issues for the iris scanner is the sharing of data among other computer systems.
