1 INVENTION TITLE Inventor(s) Name(s) Committee Presentation Date

2 Limit this section to three slides or less.
INVENTION DESCRIPTION Describe the invention in general terms (most will not be familiar with your field) Is it a device? A process? An improvement on an existing technology? A research tool? Include photographs or schematics, if relevant What does the invention do? What problem does it solve or address? What are some novel or unique features? Differences from competing or status quo technologies Specific advantages Potential uses/applications, present and future Why do you know/think it works? Experimental data, simulation data, relevant theory, etc. Best Practice: Limit this section to three slides or less. This is not a robust overview of your research/science; just enough so someone can understand value of invention. [Presentation Date] OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

3 OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
MARKET INFORMATION Describe the potential market for the invention (size, location, growth potential, etc.) Be specific, using recent, cited numbers when possible If the invention is a research tool, how large is the pool of potential customers/users? Competing firms and products Are similar products on the market? How do they work? Are any companies focused on the same type of invention? What are status quo technologies, including the “gold standard” for the problem the invention solves? Potential licensees List any firms that may be interested in commercializing the invention Has the invention been disclosed to any industry representatives? Has there been any commercial interest in the invention? [Presentation Date] OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

DISCLOSURES AND OBLIGATIONS Publications and disclosures Has the invention been publically disclosed? If so, when? Disclosure could occur in a journal article, book/chapter, presentation, abstract, poster, blog, group website, thesis, etc. Is a disclosure planned in the future? If so, when? Grants and outside obligations Was the research that led to this invention funded externally? If so, by what agency/company? Have you engaged in any Materials Transfer Agreements, Confidential Disclosure Agreements, or other agreements related to this technology? If so, with what other parties? Commercial use of invention Has the invention ever been used commercially or marketed (by the inventor or anyone else)? Has consumer testing been performed? If so, provide dates and results [Presentation Date] OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
