Operation CAPSafe The CAP National Commander, Maj Gen Amy Courter, CAP-USAF/CC, Col Russ Hodgkins, National Safety Officer, Col Robert Diduch, and CAP National Headquarters, are very concerned with safety being in the forefront of everyone’s mind.

Operation CAPSafe Whether they are volunteering for CAP, or off in their everyday lives, we are looking to give each member a safety mindset that will carry them safely through their daily activities.

Operation CAPSafe As such it is our intent to give every CAP member, cadet or senior, the tools to achieve the goal of a safety mindset We only ask that every CAP member look through these slides and participate in this once monthly activity

Operation CAPSafe What is Operation CAPSafe?
Have EVERY CAP senior and cadet member send in one Safety idea a month for either Ground Safety, Air Safety, or both This is a way to have every senior and cadet member think of Safety at least once a month This will help to instill a Safety Mindset into every CAP member

This should make entries easier for your Safety Suggestions as well as giving the Safety Team tracking capabilities for Operation CAPSafe entries

To File A CAPSafe Report
First logon to National CAP website Click on eSERVICES on the left side Type in your ”User Name or CAPID” & ”Password” You are now on the eSERVICES home page

Once In eSERVICES Click on “CAP Safety Suggestions” on the left hand menu You will see a big block for your suggestion Don’t forget to click “Submit” before exiting

How do I file a Hazard Report?
Operation CAPSafe Okay, I’ve made my safety suggestion, but I still see a Hazard, so How do I file a Hazard Report?

Filing a Hazard Report From the CAP National Website, Click on “FORMS AND PUBLICATIONS” On the dropdown menu, click “Forms (Word)” Scroll down to, and click on “*F26” “Civil Air Patrol Safety Improvement or Hazard Report”

Once There, You Will See “CIVIL AIR PATROL SAFETY IMPROVEMENT OR HAZARD REPORT” You will see silver rectangles, Click on them to fill in your information Click “Enter” on your computer when done

Something Happened, So How Do I File A Mishap Report?
Login to eSERVICES from the National Website Scroll down to the bottom of the left menu and look for “Safety Form 78” Click on it

Filing A Mishap Report You’ll see “Wing commanders or their designees will immediately notify the National Operations Center (NOC) at (888) of all accidents involving substantial damage, serious injury, or death.” “*Click here to continue” Click there, then you’ll see: “Form 78 Entry”

Form 78 Entry Page You are now on the Form 78 entry page Enter all appropriate data Click “SUBMIT” when done

Filing a Mishap Report Even though you CAN file a Form 78 report on your own, You SHOULD get your information and then work with either Major McCormick or Captain Keeling This informational only, there are implications to filing a report Work with the Sq Cmdr or Safety Officer

One More Thing: Safety Meetings
They will be scheduled on the FIRST MONDAY of every month from now on (when possible) If you miss a meeting you have 2 options: 1. Go online to the squadron website Safety page and view the power point there, or 2. Look in the Squadron Safety Meeting book for the slide hard-copies, and sign off the meeting.
