A Peek at Next Week in… 6th Grade September 12-16th Reminders The tardy bell rings at 7:55. Bring a healthy dry snack and a water bottle each day. Sign up for Remind 101 with your child’s teachers! ELA In English Language Arts we will be studying the elements of nonfictional narratives including sequence of events and vivid verbs for narratives. Each child is expected to read daily and have a book to read if needed during rotations. (TEKS 6.2B; 6A; 8A; 14b; 15Ai,ii,iii. 22A) MATH We are continuing Unit 2:Integer Operations and Order of Operations. On Monday, 9-12, we will have a Quiz on Adding and Subtracting Integers, with and without models (textbook alignment: Module 5). 6th Grade Teacher Info Please go to allenisd.org/green to check out our faculty Web Pages SCIENCE We will begin our Chemistry Unit! I would love it if you could donate a large bag of regular Skittles (red bag) for an upcoming lab! Ask your child the difference between the Mercator projection and the Robinson projection. Up next: culture, economy and government.
