Rebuttal is the name given to points in a debate where participants disagree with what has been said by their opponents. You and a partner will sit opposite each other; the partner who “serves” first will make an affirmative claim about the topic, and the other student immediately disagrees. This disagreement continues between the pair until one partner is stumped and cannot provide a rebuttal. Keep score. The person who falters first loses the point. The game scores just like a tennis match: Love, 15, 30, 40, match point.
