2 What is EventDay? EventDay is a FREE tool in the ZapEvent admin system that allows you to do the following onsite the day of your event:  Increase your capacity for taking event day registrations without having to add  more staff/volunteers   Quickly check-in pre-registered participants and assign bib numbers (if needed).   Eliminate trying to decipher bad handwriting and missed information on paper forms  Easily process credit card payments   Quickly and accurately get all event day registrations to your race timer Optional QR Code allows participants to register using there own devices. Received feedback from event directors and timers on how to streamline the process on the day of the event. If you are a sporting event: deal with fickle participants that wait for weather. Shorter lines. Wanted to get away from paper registrations. Bad/incomplete forms. Timer can receive a final report or download their own if they have access.

- Can make the layout however you’d like. Make it easy on your participants and volunteers. Have a plan. Walk through your plan BEFORE event day.

6 Recommendations • If using laptops, it’s highly recommended you have a mouse. Touchpads aren’t always familiar to users and can slow the registration process. • Default the browser homepage to your registration link so it’s easy to return if someone closes the window. Add the EventDay registration link to your browsers bookmark bar. Separate keyboards as well. Usability. People click out of a browser by accident

7 Recommendations • Turn off “auto-fill” in your browsers setting
• Be sure participants know where the check-in station is and do go there once they are done registering - Prepare the volunteers and make sure they communicate what the next steps are.

8 Reminders When Setting Up Your Equipment
• Make sure you have a good internet connection/WiFi in the area where you will be setting up the EventDay registration • Ensure all laptops or tablets being used on are fully charged. • Ensure all laptops or tablets are using the most current versions of either Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Chrome browsers • Use laptops or iPad devices. Whatever your staff/volunteers are most comfortable with. • Always have paper registration forms and lists of pre-registered runners as a backup plan
