2. Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May as a big day in Turkey. Mothers are remembered with love and respect by millions of children. On mother's day people express their love, care, affection as well as they pay gratitude to their loving and caring mothers.

4. It ıs also a day when children honour their mothers with gifts,flowers and cards. People take mother's day as an opportunity to convey their love and respect for their mothers. All mothers are offered good wishes.

Many national Turkish Newspapers and Turkish TV channels have articles and shows regarding mothers and women in general. The speeches are made both on radios and televisions,meetings are held in schools because of Mother's Day. At these meetings poems are recited, folk songs, pop songs are sung to mothers. Films are shown. Exhibitions are organized.
