Involves the physical conditions that affect the senses This can come in a physical form or a psychological form Physical: refers to the protection of all stakeholders from violence, theft, and exposure to weapons and threats in order to establish a secure learning environment Psychological: a feeling of acceptance and respect Stuffed Animals (Soft Spots) Pillows (Soft Spots) Rocking Chair (Soft Spots) Rules Fire drill procedures & Chesterfield Safety & Emergency Guidelines

4 Symbolic Identification
Students identify with the classroom through personal identification Personalize the classroom; show the students’/teachers’ accomplishments Personal background, interests, and activities Graph of students’ favorite seasons List of words that the students love Students’ artwork

5 Task Instrumentality Teacher’s desk strategically placed
