II Corinthians 9:10-11 “10 This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, 11 wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.”

14. Three Types of Giving in the Bible ~ Tithing, Alms & Offerings.

15. Godly giving ~ Alms Gifts to the poor,
Matthew 6:3 “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,”
Always confidential so as not to embarrass the poor.
Proverbs 19:17 – “If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD--and he will repay you!”

Tithing means “tenth.” All the way back in Genesis God established the practice of “tithing”. Tithing is giving the first tenth of all your increase.
All Bible believing churches teach tithing -
Tithing was established BEFORE the Law.

The only thing Jesus commended the Pharisees for was tithing – Matt. 23:23.
The call to tithing never ended as it reflects God and honors God.
Tithing is actually the first step in giving and it comes with amazing promises.

Proverbs 3:9-10New King James Version (NKJV) 9 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Malachi – the last book of the Old Testament.
The name “ Malachi” means “My Messenger”, whether it is the prophet’ s name or just the title it is A Message from God.

516 BC – The exiles who returned from Babylon under the prophetic ministries of Haggai and Zachariah finish rebuilding the temple.
458 BC – Ezra the priest brings thousands more and restarts the temple worship.

444 BC – the cupbearer Nehemiah returns to rebuild the walls. He calls the people to shun marriages with unbelievers, keep the Sabbath and to faithfully bring their tithes and offerings.
433 BC – Nehemiah returns to serving the King of Persia. During his absence the people quit tithing, broke the Sabbath, compromised in marrying unbelievers and priests became corrupt.

“Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.

11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts; 12 “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.

To not tithe is robbing God! “The tithe belongs to the Lord” Leviticus 27:30.
Places you in a cursed position.

Bring all the tithe into the storehouse – All the tithe goes to your local church (storehouse)
The only area where God says you can test Him.

People will recognize you are blessed

When the devil tries to convince you that you can’t afford to tithe, You need to recall God’s Message that you can’t afford NOT to tithe!
