2. Kindergarten Mrs. Reynolds’ February 1-5 What we’re learning
January was a busy month in Kindergarten! In reading, the students are becoming experts at reading cvc words. Students are also using taught strategies to help them read and write unknown words. Their progress has been exciting to watch!
In math, we spent much of January working on teen numbers. In addition to identifying these numbers, we worked on looking at them as groups of ten and some ones. For example, 16 is
10 and 6 more. We recently began working on addition, and this will be our focus until February vacation.
Part of our Kindergarten curriculum asks that students learn their home address. Please fill out the attached form and return it by Friday. They do not have to know their phone number, but it’s always a good thing to practice!

Valentine’s Day
We will be exchanging Valentine cards on Feb If you choose to send in cards, your child must have one for every child in the class. We have 18 students. Just have your child sign their name, but not address them to specific students.
