Ephesians 3:14-15 For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.

Ephesians 3:16-18 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Statement of Faith #7 It is the will of God that in union with Christ each believer should be sanctified thoroughly thereby being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to God, receiving power for holy living and sacrificial and effective service toward the completion of Christ's commission. This is accomplished through being filled with the Holy Spirit which is both a distinct event and progressive experience in the life of the believer

A.W. Tozer: I want deliberately to encourage this mighty longing after God. The lack of it has brought us to our present low estate. The stiff and wooden quality about our religious lives is a result of our lack of holy desire. Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth. Acute desire must be present or there will be no manifestation of Christ to His people. He waits to be wanted. Too bad that with many of us He waits so long, so very long, in vain.

A Prayer to Walk in the Spirit:
Blessed Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I desire to walk in the Spirit today. I recognize that only as the Holy Spirit lives and empowers the life of the lord Jesus Christ in me will I be able to escape the works of the flesh. I pray that the Holy Spirit may produce His fruit within my whole being.

A Prayer to Walk in the Spirit:
Forgive me, Holy Spirit, for all the times I have grieved or quenched you. Enable me to respond to your grace and be sensitive to Your voice. Grant me the desire and ability to be obedient to Your Word. Grant me discernment to avoid being deceived by false spirits. I desire that the Holy Spirit fill all of my being with His presence and control me by faith.

A Prayer to Walk in the Spirit:
I trust my victory over the flesh today completely into the hands of the Holy Spirit as I let Him take control of me. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I receive all the fullness of the Holy Spirit into all areas of my being today. AMEN
