-Kweneng East: Scottish 350beds, Thamaga 36beds(45km away) more than 50 various clinics of different levels e.g with marternity wing, healthposts etc -Kweneng West: Letlhakane clinic 20beds and more than 77 clinics up to 200km away.

5 WORK SCOPE Scottish and 1 24-hr clinic undergoing External accreditation assessment in Aug ‘15 Scottish is centre of excellence for Cardiac Surgery (Open Heart) and Opthalmology Services 90% of Equipment serviced in-house e.g. Hospital beds, patient trolleys, stretchers, baby incubators, vital signs monitors, sterilisers etc 10% outsourced [lab equipment, Anaesthetic vents, ICU Vents, Radiology equipment excluding Ultrasound machines] PPM in Thamaga and the 24hr clinic Procurement of Spares and accessories for both Regions User training, bi-annual equipment audit

6 Challenges IN THE SYSTEM
Frequent change of management at MoH HQ [more than 20 in 6yrs] Collapse of good systems which were put in place, e.g CMMS now using manual system Lack of consultation in procurement of medical equipment at HQ Lack of consultation or dissemination of information

7 ONSITE CHALLENGES Water quality (extremely hard)
Frequent power cuts (load shedding and faults) Shortage of manpower-continuous training and re-training of temporary staff leading to more workload High turnover and transfer of staff (users)-Training and retraining Non availability of spares locally

Tools management in the workshop Disposal of used instruments Disposal of non recyclable Batteries, recyclable fluorescent light tubing Disposing “off “ of mercury from the phased out mercury BP machines and thermometers. MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND DEVICES REGULATION
