Current RFP $400,000 in funds Air Filtration and HVAC (air conditioning system) Projects Appendix A Facility Improvements Guidelines 2-year projects for purchase and installation Community Grants Program

Eligible Facilities Community Grants Program
Goal – benefit maximum sensitive persons per Port dollar Children Daycare, school, after school program, youth or recreation centers, centers primarily serving children Elderly Skilled nursing, assisted living, adult day care facility Chronically Ill Hospital, clinic, hospice facility Similar facilities licensed under CA Health and Safety Code Community centers designated as senior center by a public agency Note not to serve individuals/homes Community Grants Program

Eligibility to Apply Project able to be completed by September 30, 2019 Previously funded projects with outstanding funds from Port-funded HVAC/filter projects not eligible to apply Project must be in Priority Zone Community Grants Program

Air Filter Project Types
1. HVAC Systems and Programmable Thermostats 2. Stand-Alone Filtration Systems 3. High Performance Filter Upgrades and Replacements 4. Register-Based Air Filters Discuss goals of the project – reduce air pollution from getting inside, reduce noise by keeping windows closed Community Grants Program

1. HVAC Systems Goals (at least one):
Reduce outside air pollution from coming inside Reduce GHG Emissions Reduce Noise Projects: New HVAC only when in conjunction with eligible air filters Energy Star® Equipment Programmable thermostats High efficiency filters – talk to your vendor about specifications Community Grants Program

2. Stand-Alone Systems Goal:
Reduce outside air pollution from coming inside – filters capture molecules smaller than visible Projects: High efficiency filters – talk to your vendor about specifications Systems certified by the California Air Resources Board System appropriate for room size Community Grants Program

3. Upgrade/Replace Filters
Goal: Reduce outside air pollution from coming inside – filters capture molecules smaller than visible Projects: High efficiency filters – talk to your vendor about specifications Modifications to existing HVAC to accommodate filters Five years of replacement filters Community Grants Program

Goal: Reduce outside air pollution from coming inside – filters capture molecules smaller than visible Projects: High efficiency filters – talk to your vendor about specifications Install directly on existing air register Five years of replacement filters Community Grants Program

Allowable Costs Equipment costs Labor/installation costs
Review guidelines as your project may be subject to prevailing wage law Permitting, if required – work with your contractor 5 years replacement filters Project management not to exceed 5% of total costs Projects evaluated on cost effectiveness – be mindful of these costs Community Grants Program
