Main components of tch 216 clinical at U-High

A Progressive Experience
A 10- or 11- week clinical Begins with 2-hour orientation at U-High, 1:15-3:15 PM. Attendance at 2 professional development sessions led by UHS faculty 3 “outside” observations of non-CT faculty associates or of target student Increasing interaction with U- High students, based on student’s level of competence and willingness Microteaching on campus Culminates in 3 consecutive days of teaching one class

Information for advisors

ISU students must register for BOTH the lecture portion of 216 AND the U-High lab. Labs generally run from on the hour until 55 minutes after. Students should plan for travel time to and from the lab. 10 minutes is not enough. If a conflict, try to have this affect the student’s TCH course. The clinical begins with the orientation at U-High. This takes place at U-High the first Wednesday after Labor Day in the fall and (usually)the last Wednesday in January. Students may have to miss part of a campus class to attend the orientation. Beginning the day after the orientation, students are expected to attend their lab hours every T-W-R for the duration of the clinical.
