General Total capacity Resource group Resource
Number of h/d x number = capacity Resource Number of h/d x number = capacity The term "resources" refers to productive resources that are planned as the smallest capacity unit. Resources can be employees, machines, or even production areas that are relevant to capacity. Resources are subdivided into resource groups. A resource group can be a number of individual machines that can be used alternatively or a collection of machines belonging to a production unit. Only through the correct entry of resources is it possible to receive information on the capacity situation, determine lead times for work orders, or estimate manufacturing costs for the calculation. With a resource group, it is always a matter of numerous resources of the same type and configuration, the capacity of which is summarized in a group. According to this process, the capacity is ascertained from the number of individual resources multiplied by their capacity per day (expressed in hours). Resource Number of h/d x number = capacity 5/21/2018

General – Explanation of Tabs
General: General definition of the resource Scheduling: Setting of utilization and/or availability of a work center Costs: Definition of cost rates and assignment of cost elements Cost details: Determination of variable and fix costs Attachments: Attachments are imported directly into the database (images, PDFs, etc.) Documents: Links to documents, on a network drive for instance, are managed here. Consumption material: Allocation of expendable material Extended: Extended settings regarding lot sizes and distribution/recovery times Interruption: Reported interruptions are shown here 5/21/2018

Resource scheduling Production planning / Material requirements planning Production / Purchase Resources / Ressource groups Define arbitrary resources Define planned capacity per resource Define number of machines / employees per resource Assign shifts to resources Display of work days and capacities in the resource calendar Combine resources to resource groups Shift schedule for resources Define an unlimited number of shift plans Assign to a factory calendar Define work time per shift schedule Define deviations in special shifts Availability in % per shift schedule and day template For managing resources with efficiency, you need to create at first the factory calendar and assign shifts. Please see training slides on the single topics: Factory calendar 4b Shift schedule for Resources 4c Resource groups 4d Parallel resources 4e Resource optimization Factory calendar Up to 7 different factory calendars (machines 24/7, staff mon-fri) Define workdays seperately per calendar Define availability of resources in % per calendar

Step by Step Production- Resources
Individual resources can be assigned to resource groups. To create a new resource or resource group, select the relevant tab and click New. 5/21/2018

Step by Step Header Detail
The resource master offers numerous setup options that can have various effects depending on the process. Therefore, only the most important parameters are explained here. To add a resource, you must enter a resource and a description. It makes sense to use an appropriate identification code for the resource, such as PA for pre-assembly. Try to use identification codes that are the same length, as this will make searching or selecting in other windows easier. If it is an external resource, the checkmark beside "External processing" must be activated. 5/21/2018
15
Step by Step The values Planned capacity in hrs./day and Number mach./pers. are used to calculate the capacity of this resource available per day. In this example, 8 hrs. x 1 mach./pers. gives a capacity of 8 hours per day. The calendar window gives a quick overview on planned capacities and deviations. Please see Training unit Factory Calendar and 4b Shift schedule for resources 5/21/2018
16
Step by Step To enable manufacturing costs to be determined, at least one marginal cost rate must be entered in the "Cost rate" field. This cost rate is then multiplied by the job time to give the manufacturing costs. You must also select a cost center to which this resource should be assigned. 5/21/2018
