Measles Comparison of Suspected Cases of Measles Reported, Liberia, Epi week 1 – 33, 2016 & 2017 Suspected cases: 13 Nimba (6) Montserrado (2) Bomi (2) Margibi, River Gee and Sinoe (1) 2 confirmed cases from Sanniquellie Mah district, Nimba Cumulatively: 83.7% of suspected cases were investigated by Lab Result: 145 Positive 680 negative 46 equivocal 310 positive for Rubella Cumulative 2017 deaths recorded: 95 compared to 106 in 2016 by week 20 PPH (34%), Anemia (15%) and Sepsis (16%) accounts for the highest causes of death Division of Infectious Disease and Epidemiology, NPHIL Friday, Aug 25 27, 2017

Neonatal Mortality Causes of Neonatal Death Reported, Liberia, Epi week 1 – 33, 2016 & 2017 Neonatal deaths: 11 Montserrado (4) Grand Gedeh (3) Maryland (2) River Gee & Grand Cape Mount (1) each Reported causes of death were: Birth asphyxia (5) Neonatal sepsis (5) Preterm (1) 9/11 were reported to have occurred at health facility Cumulatively, since Epi week 1, 382 neonatal deaths 17 Neonatal deaths reported: 5- Montserrado 4- Lofa 2- River Gee…. 11 Public Health Action National Level
DIDE in collaboration with JHU awarded certificates of completion to 29 participants who attended Basic Data Science Training (EpiInfo) Weekly meeting with the laboratory to ensure data verification and harmonization Work with Counties to determine response state of preparedness (lab specification for CSF collection and transportation, medical supplies and IPC) Plan performance review of Auto Visual AFP detection and reporting (AVADAR) surveillance system in 4 districts in Montserrado County Follow up with counties to conduct maternal deaths investigation, revision of forms and implementation of recommendations made Counties are encouraged to conduct health education for all public health diseases based on risk Division of Infectious Disease and Epidemiology, NPHIL Friday, Aug 25, 2017
